High-resolution UHV-SPM imaging
High-resolution imaging with functionalized tips provides the unprecedented spatial resolution, which allows to resolve the chemical structure of individual molecules on surfaces. Our aim is to explore new possibilities of the technique beyond the imaging of molecular structures, including mapping electrostatic potential or discrimination spin state of single molecules. We also develop theoretical description of different imaging mechanisms, which allows us to simulate and analyze the experimental data in details.
